This site serves to house and disseminate my work on global unions, the mobilizing of J4J model across geographical spaces, and global organizing for justice more generally.
It also contains documents from various sources and authors I consider important to understand global labour movements and their strategies, organizing models and partnerships, be they other unions or civil society groups, organizing workers and their issues across borders.
The construction and maintenance of this site is supported by my SSHRC Standard Research grant on the globalizing of the Justice for Janitors model and will be operational at least until 2014. This is an ‘active’ site and will be regularly updated with new and interesting material.
The SEIU Examined
Lydia Savage (Geography, University of Southern Maine) and I are preparing an edited book on the recent history and future challenges of the SEIU.
